Error 2 – Error 1310. Error writing to the file: File path. Verify….”

The above error usually appears in the Adobe Acrobat log file during an installation that fails. The error may appear in a couple of ways but will typically appear as “Error 1310. Error writing to file: File path. Verify that you have access to that directory.”

To solve the problem, you may do any one or more of the following:

  • Disable startup services and startup items

When running some applications concurrently with an Adobe acrobat product, some services can result in system errors or freezes. Since services are primarily essential to support the function of other programs, one or more of these may be interfering with the installation and running of your Adobe Acrobat. In this case, disable other applications including items that start automatically with windows (startup items) and services.

After disabling these services, run the application or installer to completion. Once successful, re-enable startup items and services.

  • Rename your Config.msi folder

Quite often, permissions on this folder may cause problems during execution of the Acrobat program or its installation. To test to see if this is the cause of the error, do the following:

  1. Rename the folder located C:\Config.msi to the path C:\Congig.msi.old. It may be possible that you can’t find the application data folder. To solve this, locate the file and folder options pane and select “show hidden files and folder”.
  2. If after making hidden files visible, you still can’t find the folder, then the folder doesn’t exist and is not the cause of the error
  3. If you can find the folder, rename as described above and re-run the Adobe Installer
  4. On completion, follow the steps above to locate the file and folder option and re-enable “hide hidden files and folder”

Error 3 – Binkw32.dll error messages

Binkw32.dll errors can appear on your computer as a result of malware infections or the inability of the program to locate the Binkw32.dll file. The error can appear in many ways including:

“Binkw32.dll was not found”

“The file Binkw32.dll is missing from your computer, try reinstalling…”

Cannot register Binkw32.dll

Cannot find C:\Windows|System32\\Binkw32.dll or

“The application failed to start because Binkw32.dll was not found. Reinstalling…”

To solve this issue, first restart your system and re-launch the app. If this doesn’t solve the problem, you might need to get the DLL file and locate it in the relevant folder. To do this:

  • Head over to Wikidll.com
  • search for missing Binkw32.dll and download the zip file.
  • Next, locate the zip file on your computer and extract the dll file to a desired location.
  • Finally, copy the raw DLL file to C:\Windows\System32 folder
  • Re-launch the application and get back to work.
