InfluxData raises $16M in Series B


What does InfluxData do?

InfluxData, is the creator of InfluxDB and the leading open source platform to manage the increasing volume of time series data. This is a YC backed company. The company develops the TICK stack, which is the first open source platform to manage IoT time series data at scale. InfluxDB is a events, time series and metrics database. The company is written in Go and does not have an external dependencies. So users when install it one time, there is nothing else for them to manage. This is designed for distributing and scaling horizontally but is useful even if the users are running it on a single box.

How much InfluxData was funded?

The company raised $16M in Series A on September 21, 2016 from Bloomberg Beta,  Mayfield Fund, Trinity Ventures and Battery Ventures.

What is next for InfluxData?

InfluxData’s recent investment comes on the heels of its release early September of the 1.0 version of its open source. As part of the latest investment, Dharmesh Thakker, General Partner of Battery Ventures will join this company’s board of directors. The company plans to use the latest funding raised for investment in marketing and sales and for expanding product development for better serving its community members and enterprise customers with better data solutions.
