Websites are extremely important for businesses these days because everyone is online already. If your company does not have a presence online, then you’re missing out on the opportunity to grab a huge market. Of course, if you want your presence to be felt, you have to do things right.
First, you must have a website that has the potential to have increased traffic. This kind of website could easily gain potential customers, who would then become clients. So, how do you make a website with good traffic? Well, it’s all in the website design that you make. When I say design, it’s not just how the site looks but also how it functions. Here are some tips on how to make a website.
- Decide the Web Pages
The first part of designing your website is to decide what web pages you want to add. A basic website usually has a home page, an about us page, a contact us page, a gallery page (which is where you can download pictures and watch videos), and lastly, the products and services page (archives page if you are just posting articles or online content). Decide on which pages you want to put up before you start.
- Make the Layout of the Website
The layout of the website is extremely important because the layout will determine whether your viewers will want to see your content or not. My tip here is to keep it as simple as you can. The most basic layout that you can use is the Three Box layout wherein there is a big heading (usually a picture) and the content is right below the heading on the right. On the left, there is usually a navigation bar. If you want to be a bit more creative, you can try the more modern designs. One good example is the 3d screen layout where most of the content are all 3d pictures. This is a very interactive website layout that doesn’t make much use of content. It’s up to you to decide what layout you want.
- Think Up of the Functions
When you’re done with the layout, you have to know how you want your website to function. Do you want a pure click and redirect website or do you want to add some animation? Do you want your website to be engaging or just informative? If you want an engaging website, you need to put some animations and JavaScript functions. If you want an informative website, you can stick to the basic functions.
- Do the Art
Lastly, do the art! This is the stage where you will decide what colors to use for your site and on what media form. You may add background pictures, animations, or even embedded videos. This is all up to your own creativity.
With all of these steps done, you will have a full-fledged and nicely designed website. If you have a website that’s appealing to visitors, the company is able to increase conversion rates.
