What does Showbie do?
Showbie, is a Canada based startup which makes it easy for the teachers to assign, collect and review the students works in a 1:1 classroom. The startup unlocks the creative potential of classroom tablets with easy sharing of documents and great markup tools. Showbie is on a mission to make the student and teachers working together an effortless affair in the new paperless classroom.
It makes it easy for teachers to share the assignments with students and for students to easily submit their homework online or through Showbie’s iOS app.
How much Showbie was funded?
Showbie raised a total of $2.3 M in Seed round on April 7th, 2015 led by Point Nine Capital along with the participation of Yaletown Venture Partners, Kybask Investments and Imagine K12.

What is next for Showbie?
Showbie’s mission is to empower teachers and students with tools for productivity and creativity in a paperless classroom. It is going to ass 900 schools and 140K students per month, so it is getting some nice grip. It is adopting a fermium model which allows teachers to start its free edition before the firm tries to sell its Pro version to the school.
Showbie plans on building and selling subscriptions for additional applications and products to schools and teachers. It has alos plans to add some new features to the service before the start of the new school year. These features are a markbook to helps teachers record the student’s grades and improve annotation features, including voice notes.

Its mission is to provide a complete workflow solution for the teachers and students which makes the homework process totally paperless. Teachers can write the assignment in the app and the students can work them online or on paper.
