3 Options When Choosing An Office For Your Startup

There are so many things to think about when you start your own business. One of the biggest considerations is where you’re going to work. A business needs someplace for you to operate out of and work every day. Here are three options you have at your disposal:

Rented Office

This is the most common choice for businesses worldwide. When you start up a business, you tend to look for an office space to rent. This is a building that provides you with space to conduct all your business work. They come in all shapes and sizes depending on how much room you need.

With a rented office, you get a professional business address, and plenty of room for employee’s to work. It’s probably the most professional option on this list and can increase business reputation. But, they do cost a lot more than the other options, so if you’re new to the business game, maybe don’t choose this just yet!

Home Office

There’s not a great deal to say about this one; it’s fairly self-explanatory. Instead of renting an office, you conduct business from your home. If you do choose this option, it’s important you create a proper working environment in your house. You have to have an office you can work in peacefully and without distractions.

The obvious benefit of a home office is that you save a lot of money. However, it’s only really an option for self-employed businesses. If you have a business with lots of employees under you, a home office probably isn’t the right choice. They can’t all work in your house can they? You’ll probably need to rent an office, or get a virtual one.

Virtual Office

Now, a virtual offices can make for a more productive business combines some elements of working with home, with elements of working from an office. Basically, a virtual office provides a virtual space for business location. This means you can work from wherever you are and not have to go into an office. But, there is actually an office somewhere that your business is registered to. In essence, you have an office, but you don’t have to be there all the time. There will be a support team in the office space doing things for your company. You can get business calls forwarded there, so they’re answered by a receptionist. The big difference is that you aren’t leasing a building or paying as much as a normal office.

Virtual offices do come with some benefits and minor drawbacks. I’ve already mentioned the cost benefits, so no need to go into that in too much detail! But, virtual offices can make for a more productive business. You and your employees can all work from home or wherever you want to work from. Plus, you get a business address, so your company looks more professional. The only minor issue is that it’s not as personal as working in a real office. You won’t get a lot of face-to-face contact.
