5 Cool iMessage Features in iOS 10

There is no denying that iOS 10 is one of coolest mobile platforms you will see. Apple has introduced some really amazing enhancements with this edition over its predecessors. It has also updated iMessage service. Here are the top 5 iMessage features iOS 10 comes with.

#1 . It predicts the emoji

Those who loved to use emoji or emoticon regularly in their chats would love this new iMessage feature iOS 10 has to offer. You can find the button for emoticon on the bottom to the left on the iOS keypad when you have iMessage open. This button allows you to replace various types of texts with the desired emoticon or emoji. It is a smart feature. This is because it can predict the emoji based on the text you have typed in. So, let’s say you are sending the message ‘I am elated’ it will insert a happy smiley there. However, it will also give you the option to choose from the list of the emojis if you think the prediction is not correct. iMessage will learn better over a period of use.

#2. Use your camera to take pictures from within iMessage chat

iMessage allows you to send picture and video message to the other iMessage users. But, before iOS 10, there was a serious drawback; you could not take pictures directly from within the chat. You had to navigate to the picture saved on your device. But, this has certainly changed with iOS 10. There is a camera button on the left of the chat box. Tap the camera icon and you can take pictures (even selfies). You can also capture a video and send it to the other users. You can also do some basic editing before sending the picture or video message.  You can still insert the pictures in your gallery. All you need to do is swipe right when the chat box is open.

#3. Send handwritten messages

This is another cool feature you will definitely love. When the device is rotated, you see the landscape mode and the keypad disappears and a big blank space appears in its place. You can send the handwritten note to others by writing with your finger. You can also use the stylus compatible with your iOS device. The handwritten notes are sent as picture messages. If you want to use the keypad instead of the blank space, you can press the keypad button on the screen.

#4. Preview the website links

Among the many enhancements, this is another one you could like. When someone sends a link to you through iMessage, the app detects the main image on the web page and gives you the preview. You may also see small excerpt from the website. If you have received (or are sending) a YouTube link, you will not only be able to see the preview but you can also play it back right within the app.

#5. Hide the private messages before sending

iOS 10 offers this new feature wherein you can hide a message behind a blank message. The recipient will know it is a hidden message and can view it by swiping.
