Stance, the California based company, has raised $50 million in Series B funding on March 5th, 2015 by the investors Science, Mercato Partners, Menlo Ventures, Sherpa Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Kleiner Perkin Caufield & Byers.

Previous funding

  • Undisclosed amount in the Seed round on December 7th, 2009 from investors, Mercato Partners- $1.5 M and Three Six Zero Group.
  • Undisclosed amount is Series A on July 2012, from the investors Universal Music Group, Will Smith, Dwyane Wade, Anthony Saleh, Nasir “Nas” Jones and other investors.

What is next for Stance?

Stance Founder, Jeff Kearl, said that the new funding will be used to finance an expansion into new categories such as underwear and building 6 branded stores in the coming year. He said that all the branded stores will be different in appearance and all of them will serves as research centers to study which Stance products will get the best reception from the consumers.

Stance was founded on October 22nd, 2009 by Ryan Kingman, Aaron Hennings, Taylor Shupe and has its headquarters stationed in San Clemente.

Stance has made sock bearing images of NBA  stars such as Dwayne Wade, who was an early investor in the brand. This company has also made socks with unique designs such as camouflage, geometric prints, bandannas etc. It makes socks for men, women and children.

The brand’s outward personality, creative products and artistic stories go into every single sock made by them.
