CargoSense Raises $2.5M in Seed Round


What does CargoSense do?

CargoSense, is a provider of data drive logistics to the healthcare sector using a disruptive business model. It provides a solution which serves as a black box for logistics shipment for highly sensitive goods like food, pharmaceuticals and machinery. The startup combines a analytics and data Software as a Service, iOS based application and the latest Bluetooth sensors which is delivered as a managed service to the customers. The startup uses data and analytics for providing an insight into the consumer’s shipment experience. This comprises more than just temperature monitoring and excursions to complete visibility of how transport providers treat the goods. Consumers can benefit from the government regulation, low shipping charges and a reduction in chances of product loss.

How much CargoSense was funded?

CargoSense, the Virginia based startup raised $2.5M in Seed round on April 28th 2015 from the investors IrishAngels and Middleburg Capital Development.

Previous funding

  • An undisclosed amount in Convertible Note in August, 2014 from the investor New Dominion Angels.
  • An undisclosed amount in Convertible Note on August 13, 2014 from the investor Center for Innovative Technology.

What is next for CargoSense?

CargoSense, plans to use the latest fund for accelerating its rapid growth through the expansion of marketing, sales and development teams. It will also use the investment to allow the firm to drive new product innovations and for activities involving consumer acquisition.
