What does Chef do?

Chef, is a leader in automation for DevOps, it transforms infrastructure into code. This platform allows the users to automate how they construct, deploy and manage their infrastructure. It depends on the reusable definitions called as recipes for automating infrastructure tasks. Instructions for configuring databases, web servers and load balancers are the examples of these recipes. These recipes consists of what the user’s infrastructure consists of and how each part of it is deployed, configured and managed. The chef stores the user’s recipes and other configuration data.
