This fantasy sports app has raised $3.5 M in Series A funding on March 18th, 2015. The funding is led by Upfront Ventures. Other investors include Advancit Capital, The Cherin Group, Nas’ QueensBridge Venture Partners and David Tisch’s BoxGroup.

With the new funding, the founders are planning to grow the team from 4 to nine in the months to come. It is mostly planning to hire iOS developers and engineers.

Draft was founded in May, 2009 by Jeremy Levine and Nicolo Giorgi. They wanted to take all the fund of daily fantasy sports games but make it easy on the smart phone. The team borrowed some of the mechanics of the popular turn based games and applied them to the real money fantasy sports world.

Users can either play for free if they are confident in their team or they can play for real money. The users can choose from different stakes and levels of pay.
