What does Jibo do?

Jibo, is the first social robot for the home. This is an early stage startup and developer of Jibo, which is the first family robot. It is a friendly, intelligent and helpful robot which can sense and respond and learns as you engage with it. This robot’s potential go beyond just engaging in casual conversation and completing daily tasks. It is like a personal assistant to all the family members. It is not just a robotic appliance, it acts like a companion, which interacts with its human owners and in ways which delight them.

Jibo raised $ $11M in Series A funding on August 6, 2015 from Acer, KDDI, Dentsu Ventures, NetPosa Technologies and LG Uplus

What is next for Jibo?

Jibo plans to use the funding raised in the recent round for accelerating the company’s operation, partnering content integrations, product enhancements and for market introductions of Jibo. This strategic investment round  will be a cornerstone for this social robot’s further expansion into international markets.

Jibp was founded in 2012 by Cynthia Breazeal. It has its headquarters in Cambridge, MA. This social robot helps the family stay connected and improves family communications such as helping the family members in managing their busy lives, providing entertainment and companionship etc. It brings a new experience to in home connected technologies. Jibo strives to establish a strong customized relationship between the connected home and the members living in it. It is made with intelligent interaction design, well choreographed and culture specific movements, voice and graphics, all that help in localizing it to the Asian markets and beyond.
