Shuddle, the Transport platform Raises $9.6M

What does Shuddle do?

Shuddle, is a startup which focuses on children and elderly people. This startup believes in living more and driving less. Shuddle is a car service app which provides scheduled rides for busy families.

It  is different from similar services such as Uber in many ways, apart from the specialized insurances which are specially designed for kids and elderly passengers, who need to be driven and accompanied outside of the car. Shuddle makes its drivers go through extra training and different sets of backgrounds and reference checks before they are hired.

How much Shuddle was funded?

The startup was funded $9.6 M on March 18th, 2015 by RRE Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, Accel Partners and Comcast Ventures

Previous funding

  • $2.6M  in Seed round on Oct 23rd, 2014 by Comcast Ventures, Accel Partners and Forerunner Ventures

What is next for Shuddle?

With the latest funding it will be using money to expand the company’s business in the Bay Area, which has been its only market since it came out of Beta stage in October 2014, and into the new markets.

The company is adding new drivers each week and it has grown 5 times in its ride volume since it came out of beta stage. It is to soon announce new cities in the next couple of months. Currently it has 200 drivers on its books. The vast majority of its drivers are women. This is a notable and a good welcome alternative.
