  • $1.2 M in Series A on November 15th, 2011 from Rob Walling, Bill Boebel, Dharmesh Shah, Eric Ries, Kip McClanahan and Joshua Baer

What is next for WP Engine?

The latest funding of $23 M brings the total funding of the company to $41.2 M to date. This new funding will be used by the company to grow its strategy internationally and to increase its enterprise adoption for its products.

WP Engine’s CEO said that the funding will help the company maintain the momentum and increase their ability to invest in customer experience excellence, new innovations and serve the increasing number of global customers.

WP Engine was founded in March 1st, 2010 by Cullen Wilson, Jason Cohen and Ben Metcalfe. It has its headquarters in Austin, Texas. The hosting platform hosts about 300,000 sites and apps in 128 countries. Some of its customers include Pabst Brewing, Uber and AMD.

With the amazing growth last year, the company has doubled its team size and opened offices in London and San Antonio and has launched new products through their labs.
