What does Auctionata do?

Auctionata, is the inventor of the online live auction. Its online auction house offers a curated gallery of art, antiques, collectibles and vintage luxury. This startup from Berlin makes the market for antiques, fine arts and collectibles transparent, accessible and available to the buyers and sellers by transferring the setting of an auction room online.

Auctionata, has been broadcasting live auction in HD quality from its own TV studio several times a week since May 2013. This online auction streaming service offers a clear view of the auctioneer and the object that is auctioned, real time info the bidding of the participants and the chance to place bids from any place on the globe.

Auctionata has raised $45 M in Series C funding from a group of investors which was led by the MCI Management and also by the Hearst Ventures.

  • $17M in Series A funding on Apr 2nd, 2013 from ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital, TA Venture, Bright Capital, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures and Kite Ventures
  • $30M in Series B funding onApr 15th, 2014 from Kite Ventures, ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital and HV Holtzbrinck Ventures

What is next for Auctionata?

Auctionata plans to use the latest funding for expanding its service to new categories and places. Auctionata is going to focus on its efficient growth and thereby lay the base for its organic and non organic categories and geographical expansion. New auction area include memorabilia, music instruments, diamonds, real estate, garden pieces and architectural pieces.

It is also planning to invest in watches, wine, jewelry, contemporary and fine arts, antiques, classic cars etc.
