Delphinus Medical technologies has raised the single largest amount for a healthcare imaging company in the Midwest. This huge funding will be used for underwriting regulatory efforts and for fueling the commmercialization plans for its whole breast ultrasoung system, SoftVue. The company is planning to launch a large multi-site clinical study for supporting a PMA application for a supplemental screening indication for women with dense breasts. The company will begin prospective imaging 10,000 women with its SoftVue in 8 centres around U.S. With the imaging, a reader study to compare the SoftVeu to digital mamography will be conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of SoftVue in detecting cancers which are not visible in mamography.
