What does FruitDay do?

FruitDay, is an e-commerce provider whose focus is on worldwide fresh fruit products and services importing. It is a site which subordinated to the Shanghai Fruitday e-commerce co., Ltd. It has an experience of more than thirty years of experience in the food industry. Its main products are mid and high end fruit products, which includes domestic fresh fruits and imported fresh fruits. It has built a connection directly between the consumers and suppliers with self built cold chain and cold storage logistics. It has many supply channels, such as phone ordering, website ordering, TV ordering, physical store service and a direct supply to the company.

The company’s aim is to provide green, healthy and fresh fruits and customized fruit services for customers.

FruitDay has raised $70 M in Series C funding on May 25th, 2015 from JD.com, SIG China and ClearVue Partners.

  • Undisclosed amount in Series A funding on January 1, 2011 from the investors SIG China.
  • $10M in Series B funding on March 26, 2014 from the investors SIG China and ClearVue Partners.

What is next for FruitDay?

The company which sells fresh produce across China has raised a total of $80M in investments to date, with the latest being $70M. It will use the new funding raised to develop its logistics and infrastructure and to hire new management and for its general business development. The e-commerce provider stands to benefit from more than just raised from JD.com, but with the strategic corporation FruitDay will tap into JD.com’s logistics and fulfillment network across China to widen its services in China.

FruitDay was founded in 2006 by Wei Wang. It has its headquarters in Shangai. It imports over 80% of its produce from overseas and claims to be on course to hit 10 million customers before the end of 2015.
