Technology is growing rapidly. That sleek design iPad, you owned forthe last one or two years has been outshined by the latest model, so you want to sell it and buy the latest model. You may have thought of switching to Android or Windows-based devices.

Before you can pack your iPad for sale, there are numerous things you need to do so that you secure your personal and important information from falling into the hands of malicious people.

Before you sell it, you must understand that all your saved passwords, accounts and other things like apps, photos, and Apple services are still intact, so, you want to make sure you clean it digitally. This way, you will prevent your personal information from security concern.

So what can you do? First, you will need to delete everything that you have ever stored in the iPad which may include account passwords, photos, messages, contacts, Apple accounts and more. But before you delete these things, you need to save them somewhere so that you don’t lose them completely. Let’s see what should be done before you trade in iPad devices.

  1. Backup all important data and information

First things first: You will want to use the data and information even after you sell the devices and this is why you should make sure you have a good backup of them. If you want to upgrade to the latest iPad model, you need to backup the existing data to a safe place. There are plenty of options when it comes to backing up data. You may want to save it on some other external storage devices, transfer it to another computer or backup to the cloud. This way, it will be easier to restore your stuff once you buy a new one.

To backup data and information to iCloud:

  • Go to Settings
  • Click on iCloud on the left side of the screen
  • Select Backup and Storage and then click Backup Now

Once the process is successfully completed, check that everything is backed up.
