Meta raises $50M in Series B


What does Meta do?

The company’s aim is building natural machines which seamlessly unite the real world and the virtual world. Its goal is leading the next evolution of personal computing through augmented reality, replacing laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets with a more natural to use system set totally in a pair of glasses.

The company raised $50M in Series B on June 13, 2016 from GQY, Banyan Capital, Comcast Ventures, Lenovo, Tencent Holdings and Horizons Ventures.

What is next for Meta?

The company has unveiled Meta 2 at TED 2016 in Februrary. The company is delivering a new natural machine which builds on neuroscience principles for creating a totally intuitive experience which changes how people play, work, communicate and engage with each other. The company plans on using the latest funding raised for building on its software and hardware technology base, expanding business, including app development and development of next generation of technology, Meta 3.
