What does Pamlico BioPharma do?

Pamlico BioPharma, is a bio-pharmaceutical company which is in research stage. It develops completely human monoclonal antibodies for the rapid diagnosis and for treating infectious diseases and cancer. Its lead program focuses on severe pneumonia which is caused by Streptococcus pneumonia and it is still in its preclinical  IND- directed activities for a mAb cocktail  and a companion point of care diagnostic against 3 serotypes which account for more than 40% of the SPN infections. Pamlico BioPharma is anticipated to enter the clinical trials in late 2015.

Pamlico BioPharma raised $2.2 M in Series A equity funding on April 29th, 2015 from the investors Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund and Accele Venture Partners.

Pamlico BioPharma will be using the latest funding to advance its research and development of human antibody therapeutics and diagnostics for cancers and infectious diseases. PneumomAb, Pamlico Biopharma’s lead clinical candidate is all set up to enter clinical testing in the coming year. Pamlico Biopharma is also pursuing additional discovery and antibody isolation programs in infectious diseases such as Hepatitis B, TB and human papilloma virus. The PneumomAb is a mix of serotype specific human monoclonal antibodies against Streptococcus pneumonia.
Pamlico BioPharma will continue pursuing the multiple infectious disease targets using its patent RAPIDmAb platform and address many hard to treat infections and expect to announce further programs in 2015 and 2015.

This platform’s goal is to address important pathogens which have unmet clinical needs using human antibody diagnostics and therapeutics.  Pamlico BioPharma was founded on technologies from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and from Emory univeristy and its first programs is expected to enter clinical trials in 2015.
