The company was started by Cloud.com team, which is the maker of Apache CloudStack software, which was acquired by Citrix in 2011. The software They developed in the past is used by some of the most successful and largest cloud services in the world today. The company claims that nobody understands cloud technologies and the cloud market better than them. The cloud computing business opportunity is huge and is rapidly growing.

Rancher Labs raised $10M in Series A on June 9, 2015 from Nexus Venture Partners and Mayfield Fund.

What is next for Rancher Labs?

With the rapid adoption of container technology, the startup’s open source software has growing in popularity by enabling businesses to run containers in production, across any cloud. The company plans to use the funding to further its product development and expanding its development and engineering teams.
