What does Shyp do?

Shyp, is the easiest way to ship your staff. It is a startup which lets customers hire workers to quickly pick, pack and ship parcels. From private rides to hamburgers, there is nothing that you cannot deliver as easily with just a tap of a smart phone button. Shyp provides shipping services which consists of picking up the package to delivering it to the set destination. A driver will come to your home or business, picks up all the items, then takes the picked items away to be packed professionally and ships them to the destination. Shyp connects the package to FedEx, USPS, OnTrac or other regional carriers, which automatically finds the best carrier to use for every individual delivery.

How much Shyp was funded?

Shyp raised $50M in Series B funding on April 21, 2015 from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, SherpaVentures, Homebrew, Jennifer Hyman and Kevin Rose.

Previous funding

  • $2.1M in Seed funding on September 27, 2013 from Fresh VC, SherpaVentures, Winklevoss Capital, Brian McClendon, Homebrew and David Marcus along with the participation 24 other investors.
  • $10M in Series A funding on July 16, 2014 from SherpaVentures, Shervin Pishevar

What is next for Shyp

With the new round of funding Shyp values above $250M. the funding is a bet on the future of on demand start ups.  John Doerr an executive of Kleiner, will join the board of directors of Shyp. It is also opening up a pilot version of its service in Los Angeles.
