Citymaps  is a New York Based mapping platform which is personalized, customizable, social and designed for the mobile world. This mapping app is more fun, personal and inspiring than other mapping apps. This app was created with an idea that maps is more than just a navigating to.

Citymaps offer a rich map with over 80 million places around the globe. This mapping platform uses personalization algorithm to bring out new places based on the interest and input of the user and the recommendation from friends and trusted sources. This app allows the users to create a collection of places, personal maps etc with themes that can be searched so that the user will not forget a place and always remember their favorite ones.

How much CityMaps funded?

Citymaps, the mpaaing startup has raised a funding of $6M in Series A on February 26^th, 2015 from the investors Nokia Growth Partners, Acadia Woods Partners and Coatue Management.

• $1.5 M/ Venture on August 1^st, 2013 from Steve Papa, A-Grade Investments and Ashton Kutcher

What is next for CityMaps?

The company is now going global, expanding its previous USA only overage to every city and town on the globe and encompassing more than 80 million points of interest. The company is now treating places visually with the same emphasis as roads.

The total funding to date amounts to $11 million, and this fund is going to be used to hire more staff, develop a web product which will complement the current mobile apps and for creating a infrastructure for monetization.
