What does Kano do?
Kano, is a startup which makes computers and coding kits for all ages, globally. It is inspired from a seven year old, Kano is a computer you build and code yourself using simple steps, powerful projects and creative tools. It is for anybody who wants to make technology and not just use it. It is launched in 2013 on kickstarter and was developed with the aid of hundreds of artists, young people and teachers globally.
It is a software platform and a do-it-yourself computer kit built atop the Raspberry Pi for encouraging kids to learn coding.

Kano raised $15 M in Series A funding on May 4th, 2015 from the investors Jim Breyer and Collaborative Fund.

What is next for Kano?
Kano’s recent funding will be directed towards Kano’s new computer Kit, which features upgraded Raspberry Pi2. This makes the computer 6 times faster. The new kit also contains new challenges and code blocks.
Kano has launched a campaign on the equity crowd funding platform Quire to raise $500K which shall go towards the Series A round. This will help the community in getting more than just a computer making kit, they can also take the equity in the firm.
