Proscia, is a provider of data solutions for digital pathology. This is a digital health company which focuses on bringing image analysis and big data capabilities to pathology. The company was founded by scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs from Moffitt Cancer Center, John Hopkins Center, University of Pittsburgh and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. The company developed the Pathology Cloud platform which provides informatics and infrastructure for companies working with complete slide images. This path cloud platform is helping hundreds of researchers and pathologists. The company’s software, brings together computer vision, machine learning and cloud computing. It identifies histological patters in complete slide images and quantifies tissue in methods which are impossible with the naked eye or microscope. The company’s quantitative techniques are allowing digital images in augmenting the pathology field in novel ways. These capabilities will help digital pathology in more accurate diagnoses.

How much Proscia was funded?

The company raised $1M on July 5, 2016 from A-Level Capital, Robin Hood Ventures, TCP Venture Capital and  Emerald Development Managers.

What is next for Proscia?

The company plans to use the latest funding raised for accelerating its growth and pursuing its vision of unlocking insights and accelerating discovery towards understanding and treating cancer. The company has a great pipeline of pathology solutions which will undoubtedly advance cancer diagnosis and treatment.
