Quikr, is India’s largest classified advertisement site based in Mumbai. Quikr, is a place where people can connect with each other either to buy or sell services and goods. Quikr was launched on July 12th, 2008 with the aim of enabling the buyers and sellers to meet online, make transactions offline. Currently Quikr has 4.2 M listings and has generated more than one hundred and fifty million replies.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Quikr provides the local community a good platform for selling, buying and renting and addressing needs in different categories. It includes 12 categories and 140 sub-categories which range from cars, mobiles, real estate, entertainment, services, furniture, jobs, electronics etc.
How much Quikr was funded?
Quickr the Mumbai based classifieds site raised $150 m from the investor, Investment AB Kinnevik and Tiger Global and Steadview Capital.
What is next for Quikr?
With the latest round of funding for this online classifieds site, the total funding amounts to $350 M to date. The company aims at using the latest fund to increase its mobile business and expands its active categories such as real estate, services, jobs, cars etc.
It is also planning to launch a separate property portal called quikrhomes.com, with the real estate market in India recovering. This new site will compete against CommonFloor, MagicBrick.com, 99 Acres etc which are all real estate websites in India.
The company also aims at delving deeper into the services and jobs categories, spinning out each one as a separate vertical.

The online classifieds site has 30 million monthly users, including small business and individual customers. It is active across 1,000 cities in India.
Quikr’s CEO and Founder Pranay Chulet claims that 80% of its business comes from the mobile apps.
