Illumio, the cloud security company raises $100M


What does Illumio do?

Illumio, is a data center and a cloud security company which provides visibility into application traffic anywhere and dynamically measures fine grained policies. Illumio is led by veterans with deep experience in virtualization, security hailing and networking from the leaders in the industry such as Cisco, VMware, McAfee, Juniper and Nicira.

The startup’s Adaptive Security Platform or ASP is totally independent of the underlying infrastructure and provides control and visibility over the workloads which run in any data center or cloud environment. Illumio figures out security policies and ensures they are procured accurately by understanding and adapting constantly t the changes in the applications and infrastructure.

How much Illumio was funded?

Illumio raised $100 M in Series C funding on April 14th, 2015 from Valor Capital Group, Marc Benioff, Jerry Yang, General Catalyst Partners, John W. Thompson and Andreessen Horowitz, BlaxkRock Funds and Accel partners.

What is next for Illumio?

Illumio is going to use the latest fund to meets its speedily increasing demand for its ASP- Adaptive Security Platform and to invest in its research and development department to drive the additional platform for its expansion, sales and marketing efforts growth. Illumio will also use this fund to aid its international expansion.
