You can make and receive calls and notification and make emergency calls to even when your device is locked. You can check your battery status, set alarm and click pictures too while your phone is locked. Set a password by tapping the settings button and look in the security and privacy section of the device password option. Enable this option and select a password when you are prompted.
  4. Create a picture password- A picture password is a combination of picture and number gesture, which makes it easy to unlock your phone with one hand. Your combinations options are endless. To set a picture password, you have to first set a device password. Now you have to swipe down from the top of the home screen and tap the settings button. Head in to the security section and tap device password and flip the picture password option on. Now enter the device password and choose your picture and number combination and follow the rest of the instructions which appear on your screen.
  5. PIN- To further protect your phone, you can apply a PIN code to the SIM card on your phone. This will help you prevent your SIM card from being removed from your phone and used in another device as the SIM will not function in any other device without PIN being entered correctly. To set PIN number on your SIM you have to turn on the SIM card security in the BlackBerry settings and contact your service provider to receive the PIN code.
